Struck in 2011 to mark the 50th anniversary of the World Wildlife Fund (WWF), this 50p is instantly recognisable for putting the WWF panda logo on UK currency - one of the few circulating coins to feature a well-known charity emblem rather than a Royal Mint-commissioned illustration. It was designed by Matthew Dent, who also created the Royal Arms reverse used on standard 50p coins from 2008.

It was struck in large enough numbers that most examples are only worth a small premium over face value, but well-preserved uncirculated examples remain popular with new collectors as an accessible, recognisable coin to start a 50p set with.
