These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of 50pence.co.uk (the "Site"), operated as "50pence.co.uk" ("we", "us", "our"). By browsing or using the Site you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the Site.
1. What the Site is
50pence.co.uk is a free, independent reference guide to UK 50 pence coins. We publish coin specifications, mintage figures, issue prices and collector guide values compiled from Royal Mint published data and our own research. We do not sell coins, buy coins, or act as a dealer, appraiser or auction house.
2. Affiliation with The Royal Mint
We are an independent publisher and an official affiliate to The Royal Mint in the UK. "Royal Mint" and any related marks referenced on this Site remain the property of their respective owners and are used only for identification and reference purposes (nominative fair use).
3. Guide values and content are informational only
All coin values, mintage figures, rarity rankings and other data on the Site are provided "as is" for general information purposes only. They are estimates based on publicly available Royal Mint data and observed collector sale patterns, are not a professional valuation, are not investment advice, and are not a guarantee, offer, or solicitation to buy or sell any coin. Coin values can go down as well as up, and actual sale prices vary with condition, provenance and market demand. See our Disclaimer for more detail. Always independently verify any figure before relying on it for a purchase, sale, insurance or other decision.
4. Accuracy
We take reasonable care to keep coin data accurate and up to date, but we make no representation or warranty, express or implied, as to the completeness, accuracy, reliability or currency of any content on the Site. Mintage figures in particular are frequently revised by The Royal Mint after initial publication.
5. Third-party links and affiliate relationships
The Site links to third-party websites, including royalmint.com and online marketplaces, for reference and, in some cases, as part of affiliate programmes - see our Affiliate Disclosure. We don't control and aren't responsible for the content, accuracy, or practices of any third-party site.
6. Acceptable use
You agree not to: scrape or bulk-extract Site content for a competing commercial database without our written permission; attempt to interfere with, disrupt, or gain unauthorised access to the Site or its underlying systems; or use the Site for any unlawful purpose.
7. Intellectual property
Original text, layout and compiled data on the Site are owned by 50pence.co.uk unless otherwise credited. Coin images and specifications sourced from The Royal Mint remain the property of their respective rights holders and are used for identification/editorial purposes.
8. Disclaimer of warranties
THE SITE AND ITS CONTENT ARE PROVIDED ON AN "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" BASIS, WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT.
9. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, 50pence.co.uk and its operator will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, revenue, data, or goodwill, arising from or related to your use of, or inability to use, the Site or reliance on any content on it, even if advised of the possibility of such damages. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.
10. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The "Last updated" date above shows when they last changed. Continued use of the Site after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
11. Governing law and venue
These Terms, and any dispute arising out of or relating to the Site or these Terms, are governed by the laws of the State of New York, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles. You agree that the state and federal courts located in New York State will have exclusive jurisdiction over any such dispute, and you consent to personal jurisdiction in those courts. If you are a consumer resident outside the United States, mandatory consumer-protection laws of your own country of residence may still apply to you notwithstanding this clause.
12. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect.
