Suffragettes 50p was issued in the year 2003 by The Royal Mint Celebrating the 100th Anniversary of establishment of the Women’s Social and Political Union..
It is less commonly found with a mintage of 3,124,030 coins in circulation.
The coin reverse image depicts the striking figure of a Suffragette lady chained to railings and holding a banner. The letters on the banner “WSPU” are an abbreviation of the Women’s Social and Political Union.
There is also an image of a ballot paper marked with a cross and the words GIVE WOMEN THE VOTE
It has the words 50 PENCE and the 2 Anniversary dates, 1903 to 2003.
