Price Guide: £4.00
Stegosaurus, instantly recognisable for the row of bony plates along its back, was added to the Royal Mint's Dinosauria 50p series in its second wave alongside Tyrannosaurus Rex and Diplodocus. Unlike the series' founding three (Megalosaurus, Iguanodon, Hylaeosaurus), Stegosaurus wasn't discovered in Britain, but its worldwide fame made it a natural fit for the series' expansion.
Struck for general circulation, it's a common, affordable addition to a Dinosauria set.
